Amanda Knox is an American woman born on 9th July 1987, and she is a prominent figure in the true crime genre. She spent almost four years in prison in Italy because she was convicted of murdering her housemate in 2007. The victim of the case was Meredith Kercher, who was an exchange student sharing the apartment with Amanda. She was only 20 at the time of the murder and was the first person to call the police after reaching the apartment following a party night with her boyfriend. However, after the US police and forensic cross-examination, Amanda was freed because of incompatibility with evidence.
