Angela Bassett was born on 16th August 1958, and she is a prominent director, actress, activist, and producer. She is best recognizable for portraying female leads in movies. She has received several awards from Golden Globe, NAACP, and Black Reel. She has also earned nominations from Primetime Emmy and Academy. She inaugurated her career in acting in the 1980s, just after she graduated from Yale. She has done a few minor roles in Boyz n the hood as Reva Styles. She did her breakout in a biopic named What’s Love Got to Do With It, where she played the role of a vocalist named Tina Turner.
