The Largest Stadiums in Florida

When the sun comes out and the smell of barbeque enters your nose, you know that it is time for some tailgating. Florida is the home for some of the best sports teams in the entire country and therefore also some of the most impressive stadiums. Let’s have a look at some of the largest ones that Floridians can enjoy.

Ben Hill Griffin Stadium (88,548)

The largest stadium in the entire state is not the home of a professional sports team. “The Swamp” is the name of the Florida Gators home ground and is the 18th largest stadium in the entire world.

The Gators have won national championships in 1996, 2006 and 2008 and has been seen as one of the top college teams in the nation for quite some time. The 2021 season was not as good as expected and the team finished second to last in their division. Next year almost 90,000 spectators will be on the stands ready for a redemption season.

Doak Campbell Stadium (79,560)

The next stadium to feature this list is the home of Florida Gators archrivals Florida State Seminoles. The team has been one of the most consistent teams in college football, going through 41 winning seasons from 1977 through 2017.

Like their rivals they have won three national championships and several conference titles. Their 2021 season ended with a 5-7 record and in a season-ending third loss in a row to their rivals from University of Florida. It’s one of the greatest rivalries in college football and we can’t wait for next year’s game.

Even though the college season is over, there is still plenty of more sports action to be found, ranging from football to basketball. You can find the best betting tips for residents of Florida and get in on the action.

TIAA Bank Field (76,867)

Home to Jacksonville Jaguars and this season also the home of New Orleans Saints first home game due to the hurricane Ida. The Jaguars had the worst season of the franchises in 2020 and therefore had the first pick of the 2021 draft.

It was not a surprise when they picked up Trevor Lawrence as their new starting quarterback. He was one of the hottest quarterback projects of the decade and looked as fit as some of the best athletes in the world. He has had a decent start to his NFL career, while the Jaguars are still struggling in winning games. The 2021 season ended with a 3-14 record, once again the worst of any team, giving them the first pick of the 2022 draft.

Raymond James Stadium (65,857)

Ray Jay is home to the Tamba Bay Buccaneers and the South Florida Bulls. With both NFL and university football at the stadium there is plenty of activity going on. This year the spectators at the stadium have had plenty of things to be happy about with the Buccaneers going into the playoffs as the NFC second seed. Tom Brady and the rest of the roster will be happy to know that their first games will be at the Raymond James Stadium with a fully supportive crowd behind them.
