Mark testified in the federal fraud trial of the Chrisleys in Atlanta at the end of May. According to Business Insider, Mark said he and Todd had an intimate relationship lasting approximately a year in the early 2000s. Todd and Julie had been married since 1996. Thus they were already a married couple. Mark also said that once the alleged romance ended, he and Todd continued to stay friends up to the year 2012. During that moment, Mark was working for Todd’s foreclosure management firm, Chrisley Asset Management. Further, Mark stated that he and Todd had received anonymous SMS threatening to disclose their supposed romance. This former business partner claims he blackmailed him into silence for $38,000.

In response to the allegations made by Mark, Todd’s attorney, Bruce Morris, said that the former worker had an unhealthy preoccupation with their client. Additionally, the attorney said that Mark had ambitions to be like Todd. The attorney said that Mark’s claims of an affair and blackmail were untrue in his closing remarks. When questioned in court, he remarked, “I propose to you that Mark Braddock is the exact image of reasonable doubt.” According to another account, Assistant U.S. District Attorney Thomas Krepp echoed the feelings of Todd and his attorney when he said, “shouldn’t trust Mark Braddock.”
